Are you in the first few years of your teaching career or are you preparing to become a teacher? This workshop series is designed for you! Join us for an interactive online workshop series where we’ll focus more on the “how” of teaching than the “what.”
Using Facing History’s pedagogical approach, we’ll engage with activities that help you think about building reflective communities of care. The series will focus on the importance of identity and SEL instruction to help create inclusive, student-centered classrooms where students feel a sense of belonging and connection. During each session, you’ll be in conversation with others who are new to teaching and walk away with practical strategies to use in your classroom.

- Session 2: June 18, 1-2:30 ET (see in your time zone): Building a Facing History Classroom: Creating a Culture of Belonging: In this session, we will introduce you to resources and strategies to help you create a safe and reflective classroom community where students build self and social awareness.
- Session 3: June 20, 1-2:30 ET (see in your time zone): Building a Facing History Classroom: Activating Agency and Student Voice: In this session, we will look at practices and strategies to create a classroom where students can share their opinions, engage with multiple perspectives, and think about their own role in their communities today.
