    The Facing History School's annual Speaker Series continued this October, with CNN anchor and special correspondent Soledad O'Brien addressing the student body. The series brings scholars, activists, and artists to the school to broaden students' understanding of "choosing to participate" and demonstrate the power of a single individual to make a difference in his or her community.

    On Wednesday, October 1, Cleveland Facing History and Ourselves hosted a Community Conversation with Marian Wright Edelman, President of the Children's Defense Fund and best selling author.  Through discussion of her newest book, The Sea Is So Wide and My Boat Is So Small, Edelman spoke thoughtfully about how to create a safer world for children.
